i m reading "tipping the velvet" by Sarah Waters.
It is one hell of a victorian lesbian story, about two male impersonators and their lives in 1890s london. It is wonderful. like, it is strangely up to date in a sense that ppl like us feel the same thing. and literature wise, it is full of symbolism and descriptions, really love it. erotic enough to be realistic, and it is just very moving. maybe i just feel very related to the protagonist.
but anyway.
i don know whether ppl who read my blog read english books, coz you guys lucky enough to have chinese to read. anyway, found some good authors so far, they are A.S. Byatt and A. M. Homes. A. M. Homes wrote the type of stories I wrote. short stories. and I was so shocked by finding this story in her book, about a girl who live in a closet, and there is ppl outside of the closet who will be mean to her, and in the end she get out of the closet. well, it is a different theme, but the setting and the atmosphere is the same. it was amazing. so, i think ppl who have interest in My stories, last time, i mean, will be interested in AM Homes.
I am buying Sarah Waters's book , wanna keep it, must lend it to ppl to read sometimes. and her other book is Affinity, about victorian prison, spiritualism, and imprisoned women. gosh! love victorian prison theme!!!
ok, enough of books.
today customers are good. so far. din piss me off.
